Finally it has come. Spring is here, with us, between us and for us. No more gloomy days, no more cold, no more fur coats, beards, hairs or anything else to heat up.
Ok, that’s not the point, but it really helps. With this post I’ll open a series of monthly summaries to take stock of the situation in my public life, with regard to the Free Software world, of course.
As many of you may have noticed, in the last two weeks or so I’ve been very busy: I had exams, than last week started three new courses at the university and in between I worked, so the situation was not so fair, but we’re almost done. You can find my latest work already online, just head to the Rossi Group s.p.a. website. It’s not finished yet, but it works and is absolutely better than the previous one. Do you think it is good? Do you have some suggestions? Don’t hesitate to contact me!
Because working and studying at the university are not enough, with 2viLUG (Dueville Linux User Group) we decided to develop a new Django-based management web application, Haldus, which I already mentioned in my last post. This application would at first be a chance to study new languages and techniques, but also would be useful to us and – hopefully – to others. It’s obviously free software: licensed under GPL v3, you can already find a repository on GitHub. It has a Wiki too, in which you can find only a ToDo page. So I began to study Python and Django and in these days I’m diving into Ruby on Rails too, because I have to admit that I’ve had enough of PHP, Joomla!, WordPress, Drupal and so on. I’d like to change my horizons, realize something powerful and simple at the same time.
As you already know, though, I’m involved into other projects too. We (it’d be better to say “they”) are working hard into Ubuntu-it because of the approach of the 25th of April, when Ubuntu 13.04 will be released. I think that most people will love this release, it’s great!
After two or three weeks of abstinence, I restarted writing in Engeene. In these weeks, though, I did something: we’re working to provide our readers something that’s always better and I think we’re improving our approach to the readers and between one another in the staff.
I also added some informations about the license on the content of this blog. You can find something deeper in the License page, but you can see the popular Creative Commons image at the end of each post.
Ok, that’s it. I think I’ll come back with another report in two weeks and than month by month, hoping I’ll always have something to do.
Footnote: I’d like to go to the United States or in some other places, maybe some day…
